No, it is not a grey squirrel having a bad hair day!

Welcome to Purple Squirrel, a new recruitment consultancy started by me the original Squirrel. In my former life I held posts in senior levels of the automotive industry, travelled the world, generated lots of revenue for some very big corporations and had a network of associates across the globe. As a woman, in a male dominated industry, I was instantly recognizable and memorable.  Highly enthusiastic, competent and accomplished, I truly loved my job and the buzz of doing business in a global community. At the top of my game I know I could have walked into any dream job. Then I had children.

For me this life-changing event coincided with redundancy as my offices were relocated from UK to mainland Europe. I chose what was best for my family, took the money and stayed home. Finally getting back to work proved a little trickier than I would have liked. I was not short of very good offers, but I found myself de-selecting myself based on the need to tightly define my geographic mobility. Suddenly being a Mum was career limiting.

So, not being the type of individual to stand still complaining and rushing my kids to grow up I have started squirreling as a considered choice. Backed by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, I am passionately committed to creating a new Employment Business and Agency. My Unique Selling Point? Easy, my years of industry experience and delivering results from teams. Knowing the roles, skill-sets and personalities employed in industry and being able to utilise that expertise to the benefit of the clients and candidates I will serve.

• I know that no client wants to receive irrelevant CV’s from a recruiter who doesn’t understand their business and is only interested in hitting targets.

• I know that no candidate wants to be bombarded with mail shot listings for jobs that don’t even come close to what you are interested in.

My formula for success is very simple – I plan to Listen. That coupled with the highest levels of drive and determination and strategic vision which is no less ambitious – perhaps more so because now this is personal.
